Walter Venesky of North Scranton died Sunday 11/10/13. Walter was a North Scranton Vikings Junior Football coach and officer for 22 years and has the Walter Venesky Award for youth coaching in recognition of a youth sports coach who makes an impact on the future by nurturing self-esteem and development of athletes named after him and which he was a recipient of in March.
STEPHEN LEBRON, A 14 YEAR OLD MEMBER OF THE NORTH SCRANTON VIKINGS, WAS KILLED IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON THE NORTH SCRANTON EXPRESSWAY. HIS SISTER, FATIMA WAS ALSO KILLED.
Kathy Martin, 58, a lifelong resident of West Scranton, died Thursday evening under the care of the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She is survived by her beloved husband, Ken Martin.
With her husband serving as president, Kathy volunteered with the West Scranton Falcons football program for 25 years, helping raise money by running the concession stands, organizing dances and doing anything that needed to be done to support her husband, the program at large, but most importantly, to provide for the children of the West Side Falcons and give them the best experience possible.
